Our Vision

To build a future where no talented youth from Ukawu is denied the chance to pursue higher education due to financial hardship.

Our Mission

To provide merit-based financial scholarships, mentoring support, and community engagement opportunities for academically promising indigent students of Ukawu origin, thereby nurturing a new generation of scholars, leaders, and change makers.

What We Do

Award Scholarships

Every academic year, USI awards scholarships to three (3) newly admitted students in universities and polytechnics across Nigeria.

Promote Academic Excellence

Scholars must maintain a strong academic standing to retain their funding and are rewarded with additional incentives upon graduating with distinction.

Encourage Community Service

USI goes beyond funding — scholars give back by committing to a minimum of one month of service in Ukawu every year, mentoring others and contributing to local educational development.

Inspire Leadership

We cultivate discipline, responsibility, and a deep sense of belonging, grooming each scholar not just for personal success, but for community impact.

Our Story

Born out of a shared dream, USI was created in 2025 as a grassroots solution to one of the most urgent challenges facing Ukawu youth — access to quality post-secondary education. By channeling resources into the most promising students who are indigent, we aim to build a stronger, more educated Ukawu for future generations.

Meet the Team

The scheme is administered by a dedicated Scholarship Committee composed of respected educators, professionals, and community representatives who ensure fairness, transparency, and impact in every stage of the process — from screening and raffle draws to monitoring and renewal.
